I think if you were to ask the average person, they'd probably say math is one of those subjects that probably hardly changes anymore, kind of like physics. Oh boy, how wrong they would be on so many fronts. Although this article doesn't go into the changing landscape of mathematics, Tom MacWright explores the changing landscape of JavasScript mathematics. Yeah I know it's from February, but it's still relevant and interesting. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Today I felt proud of implementing a micro-optimization in serving music content on a website for a company I'm co-founding. Then I read this article about how Netflix handles keeping the user experience pleasant, even when network congestion gets to critical levels, and I realized how incomprehensible the scale of such a company is too me. In this piece, the authors focus on how requests are categorized and prioritized to allow for uninterrupted Netflix binges.

Spotting problems and debugging them is as important in programming (if not more) as is writing the code in the first place. Obviously it would be better to not write buggy code in the first place, but sometimes that's out of your control. Fortunately Karl Zylinski has written an article about spotting an issue, narrowing down the problem space, adding visuals to help debug, and the ultimate solution, all for a game engine written in C.
