Yesterday, beneath my kitchen window, a heartbreaking saga of a baby seagull that fell out of its nest unfolded. Its conclusion in the early morning hours of today, when that chick became a quick snack for a stray cat, was truly sad. Yet the Earth keeps spinning and life keeps living.
